Event Portrait Photography
FAQ
A clean, clutter-free space with nearby power helps us build the portrait studio safely and keep guests moving. The guide below shows the preferred footprint; the FAQ continues underneath with delivery, timing, travel, and booking details.
Room to build
the portrait studio.
The cleanest portrait experience starts with a simple footprint: enough width for the backdrop and lighting, enough depth for camera distance, and nearby power so the station can run safely without crowding the room.

01 What area do you serve?
We are based in San Antonio and serve weddings, galas, corporate events, and private celebrations across the Hill Country, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and surrounding Texas event markets. Select destination dates in Denver and New Orleans are available by custom quote. Travel outside our primary service area is quoted based on venue location, schedule, and setup needs.
02 Is Monochrome Memories a photo booth?
No. Monochrome Memories is a photographer-led portrait experience, not a traditional photo booth. Guests are guided by a live photographer in a refined studio setup with professional lighting, intentional posing, and a clean backdrop. The result feels closer to an editorial portrait session than a self-service booth.
03 How are the portraits delivered?
Portraits are delivered digitally through a QR-based flow. Guests can scan, view, download, and share their portraits from their phone. No physical prints or printed guestbooks are required.
04 Do you print photos at the event?
No. Monochrome Memories is 100% digital. This keeps the experience clean, fast, and modern while avoiding print delays, pickup tables, misplaced photos, and physical waste.
05 How are the images refined?
Portraits are cloud processed, which allows the final images to be refined and delivered digitally while keeping the event footprint smaller and the workflow more efficient.
06 What is the best time to start the portrait session?
For weddings, cocktail hour, after dinner, or just before the dance floor opens can all work well. For galas and corporate events, we usually recommend starting once guests have arrived and the room has energy, but before the schedule becomes too packed.
07 How long does setup and breakdown take?
We generally prefer about one hour for setup so the lighting, backdrop, camera, and delivery workflow can be tested properly before guests arrive. Breakdown usually takes around 20-30 minutes.
08 What do you need from the venue?
We recommend a clean area with access to power and enough depth for the backdrop, subject area, lighting, and photographer. The full recommended layout is shown in the space guide above, and we can rotate or shift the setup to work with traffic flow, entrances, catering, and the dance floor.
09 Can guests access their portraits immediately?
Yes. The experience is designed for instant digital delivery. Guests receive access through a QR-based flow so their portrait is ready to view, download, and share shortly after the session.
10 Do you photograph every guest?
We photograph as many guests as the event schedule and guest participation allow. The portrait station works best when the host, planner, DJ, or emcee helps guests know the experience is available.
11 What types of events is this best for?
Monochrome Memories is ideal for weddings, black-tie events, galas, brand activations, corporate celebrations, fundraisers, and private parties where guests are dressed well and the host wants something more elevated than a standard booth.
